A customer recently came to me with a piece of Mother Of Pearl that a family member had in WW2 in Bethlehem. It had been a brooch but was now just the pearl. They were looking to have the piece made to pass the pearl down the family.
We came up with lots of designs but chose to go with a simple yellow gold design as the detail in the pearl was so beautiful and intricate.
Final Pendant 9ct Yellow Gold and Mother of Pearl.

I had the lovely experience teaching Tracy and Stevie how to Make their Own Wedding Rings.
Stevie and Tracy decided to make their wedding bands in 18ct yellow gold and 18ct white gold!
Stevie and Tracy joined me for the day in my studio in Wasps Studios, Dundee.
They joined me for the day in the studio where we went through the stages of how to make a ring and then Tracy and Stevie had their turn at making each others wedding bands.
They went for a high polished yellow 18ct gold band and a hammer finished high polished 18ct white gold band.

I was asked to make this bespoke wedding band! The client wanted to have blue stones all the way around the band and have the band made in platinum.
We then looked at different blue stones including their birthstones and stones they love.
We ended up choosing white and blue sapphires, turquoise, zircon and tanzanite.
I also made the grooms wedding band which was a high polished 9ct white gold ring.

Recently I had the pleasure of making jewellery for a beautiful bride to give to her two bridesmaids. We worked together on designs for a necklace and a pair of earrings. I made a pair of Scarlett Erskine Jewellery drop earrings using gold and cushion cut mint quartz and a necklace designed by the bride featuring my drop beads, this time mint quartz, coming down the back of the neck.
Here are the results...

I was recently asked to make some very special pieces of jewellery as a Mother's Day Gift. I was asked to work with a family's grandmother's ashes to make two necklaces that the mother and daughter could treasure forever.
After a lot of thought of the design we decided to make pendants from glass and precious metal. We decided to incorporate the ashes into a glass pendant. I asked the wonderful Helen Chalmers who I have worked with before to make two glass heart pendants with their grandmother's ashes inside.
Helen sent me over some great shots of the making process.
They wanted to have a glass pendant each and half of a gold plated silver heart on each pendant so their necklaces can join together.
Making sentimental jewellery like this that someone can treasure forever is a very special process.
Completely bespoke detail inside the glass.
And now they are being worn and enjoyed!
